ALTAR SERVER
Scheduler: Susan Sassin (859-342-6526) tassy119@aol.com
Participation: Children who wish to serve at the Altar can begin their service as early as the 4th grade. Children must be supported in their service by their parents. Adults are welcome to serve as well. Other Requirements: Servers must be present fifteen minutes before Mass begins, attend a yearly retraining class, and attend Mass every week.
EXTRAORDINARY MINISTERS OF HOLY COMMUNION

Training: Make a scheduled appointment to meet with Deacon Larry Kleisinger (525-6909, lkleisinger@mqhparish.com) before registering for the Diocesan training, and receive the permission of the pastor to participate in this ministry. The candidate must attend an initial one-time training class provided by the Diocese of Covington and a Parish training class. Upon completion of the initial training requirements, the candidate will receive an appointment by the Bishop of Covington to a four year renewable term and be commissioned by the pastor. Yearly retraining is mandatory at the parish level in order to continue in this ministry. Participation: Must have received all three Sacraments of Initiation, reached the age of sixteen, not be under any canonical penalty, and be actively practicing their Catholic faith. Purpose: Assist in the distribution of the Eucharist during Mass, and may volunteer to visit those confined to a nursing facility or home on a weekly basis. Other Requirements: Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion must be present fifteen minutes before Mass begins and properly attired reflecting the dignity of this exalted calling. Prayer and preparation are necessary in order for one to perform this ministry with the respect and dignity of this calling.
MINISTRY OF LECTOR

Prayer and preparation are necessary in order for one to perform this ministry with the respect and dignity necessary in communicating God’s Word to others.
PRAYER LINE
Coordinator: Amy Hahn (859-391-4258) amrhahn@gmail.com
Participation: Volunteer. Purpose: To pray for any person who has requested prayers for himself/herself or for another individual. Prayer requests are forwarded by the parish coordinator to all volunteers on the prayer line by either a phone call or email. Those notified by phone have a phone tree which they continue to pass the requests through.
USHER
Training: As needed. Participation: Volunteer. Purpose: The primary mission of this ministry is hospitality. One of the ways this mission is accomplished is by welcoming people to the liturgy with sincerity and enthusiasm. Additional responsibilities of this ministry are assisting parishioners to their seats, gathering the gifts of the people and distributing the weekly bulletin.
